Rolling gun battle leaves woman critically injured at Englewood bus stop, CPD says

A rolling gunbattle between the occupants of two cars left a woman critically injured as she sat at a CTA bus stop in Englewood on Tuesday night, Chicago police said. But a witness provided cops with a completely different version of events.

The woman was waiting for a ride in the 800 block of West 59th Street just before 10 p.m. when two dark-colored vehicles drove past and offenders inside both vehicles began shooting at each other, according to a CPD statement. She suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

CPD did not say the woman was waiting for a CTA bus even though she was at a CTA bus stop…
