More than 72,000 Cook County homeowners are still waiting on property tax refunds—and the county still can’t send them out in bulk.
Cook County has paid out $112,328,507.88 through its new Tyler Technologies property tax system since launch, according to the county’s most recent weekly Integrated Property Tax System status report.
That’s up about $20.3 million from the prior week. But 72,652 refunds remain outstanding, and software defects are still blocking the mass-payment capability the Treasurer needs to make a real dent in the backlog…
