Suspect recently charged with robbery of two women at their NW Side homes in late 2025

Following a nearly seven-month investigation, a 36-year-old man was arrested at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, in connection with two separate incidents on Dec. 28, 2025, in which women reported being robbed after returning to their Northwest Side homes from shopping, according to Chicago police.

The suspect, who was identified by police as Olajuwon Claiborne, of the 8100 block of South Evans Avenue, was taken into custody in the 5400 block of West Washington Boulevard, according to police.

He was charged with two felony counts of robbery involving a victim who is handicapped or 60-plus years old, one felony count of aggravated battery/great bodily harm and one felony count of unlawful possession of a credit or debit card, according to police.
