Chicago man charged after stolen gun found during court-ordered eviction

CHICAGO A Chicago man is facing a felony charge after sheriff’s police found a loaded, stolen gun while carrying out a court-ordered eviction last week, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Stolen gun found

Deputies were enforcing a court order around 11:50 a.m. Aug. 13 in the 8900 block of South Dauphin Avenue in Burnside when they recovered the firearm.

The sheriff’s office said deputies later learned the gun had been reported stolen from Streator, Illinois.

Two residents were taken into custody.
