Attempted murder charge filed against man accused of West Side shooting

CHICAGO — A Chicago man accused of shooting another man on the city’s West Side late last month is now facing felony charges.

Chicago police say 38-year-old Jordan Watkins, a Fuller Park resident, has been charged with several felonies, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and habitual criminality.

According to police, the charges stem from Watkins’ alleged role in a shooting that unfolded just days before his arrest.
