Three years in, Cook County Sheriff’s safety efforts on Mag Mile show results

A three-year effort by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to help bring down crime on the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago appears to be working.

A group of 40 to 50 sheriff’s officers patrol the Mag Mile every day of the week, and have made more than 100 arrests so far this year.
