CHICAGO – Want some good news about prices? In a year when nearly everything seems more expensive, Riot Fest – happening Sept. 18-20 in Douglass Park – is mounting the equivalent of a punk-rock protest of inflation. Most ticket options cost the same or are cheaper than those for last fall’s incarnation.
While Lollapalooza attracts more national attention, Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash targets the hip-hop market and North Coast corners the EDM space, Riot Fest reigns as the area’s biggest festival bargain. Upwards of 100 artists, five stages, carnival rides, free arcade games, diverse food offerings, and a plethora of odds-and-ends merchants provide entertainment for all tastes.
