Man charged with murder in death of Chicago OEMC worker

CHICAGO (WGN) – A man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a 36-year-old worker with the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC).

Chicago police said 33-year-old Darreon Plummer was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 16 in the 10000 block of West O’Hare Avenue near Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

After a months-long investigation, detectives identified him as the suspect who, on Feb. 5, 2026, shot and killed a 36-year-old woman in the 6900 block of North Bell Avenue in West Ridge.
