Prosecutors: Illinois man trafficked, abused 16-year-old runaway; sentenced to 25 years

CHICAGO, Ill. (WTVO) — A suburban Chicago man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for sex trafficking and sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl, according to federal prosecutors.

Ruben Carter, 39, of Forest Park, pleaded guilty earlier this year to one count of sex trafficking of a minor. On Tuesday, a federal judge sentenced him to 25 years in prison. He will additionally serve 10 years of supervised release.
