A hit-and-run driver who killed a 27-year-old woman as she made an Uber Eats delivery in Austin with her almost 2-year-old son strapped into her car has been given a four-year prison sentence.
Jennifer Kelleher of Brookfield parked in the 5000 block of West Washington around 5:45 p.m. on January 27, 2023, to make a delivery. Her son was secured in the back seat, just steps away, when she got out of the car.
Prosecutors said 49-year-old Lydale Durr was driving his wife’s 2012 Buick down the street when he struck Kelleher. Security video allegedly showed Durr never slowing down. The impact threw Kelleher into the opposite traffic lane, where another car struck her as well. Paramedics rushed Kelleher to Stroger Hospital, but she was pronounced dead about an hour later…
