ICE announces new vehicle stop policy after deadly incidents in Chicago area, nationwide

Vehicle stops are one of the riskiest maneuvers for any law enforcement officer. But after men were killed by federal immigration agents in Texas, Maine and in the Chicago suburbs, the ABC7 I-Team has learned Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is changing its policy on who can stop vehicles.

According to sources familiar with the change who spoke with ABC News, ICE has announced a new vehicle stop policy that only those who have completed relevant training may participate in stops, and officers who initiate vehicle stops must have lights and sirens…
