Two Venezuelan men have been given six-year sentences for robbing three women inside a Buena Park apartment building late last year. Jose Dominguez-Rosario, 19, and Deus Rojas, 20, each pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery in connection with the November 22 muggings, according to court records.
Prosecutors said the women were returning from a night out in the Gold Coast when they reached the front door of their apartment building in the 700 block of West Gordon Terrace around 12:17 a.m. Unbeknownst to them, Dominguez-Rosario, Rojas, and an unnamed male juvenile had followed them inside.
The juvenile lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked into his waistband and “shushed” the women, prosecutors said. Two of the victims handed over their purses, which contained wallets and credit cards. The third wore her purse across her chest, and one of the robbers cut the strap from behind.
