Man shot after verbal altercation near the Harlem Irving Plaza mall

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being shot near the Harlem Irving Plaza shopping mall.

According to the Chicago Police Department, a 28-year-old man was shot on the 3900 block of North Harlem Avenue in the city’s Dunning neighborhood just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old was driving near the Harlem Irving Plaza when they were allegedly involved in a verbal altercation with another man. The suspect then exited his vehicle and fire one gunshot into the 28-year-old’s vehicle before returning to his vehicle to flee the scene.

The 28-year-old man sustained one gunshot wound to his arm and self-transported himself to a local hospital in good condition.

No suspects have been in custody at this time.
