New details: Chicago-area man accused of killing wife, 3 daughters in domestic dispute

TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — The man accused of shooting his wife and three daughters in their Chicago-area home on Sunday allegedly told police his murdered spouse was a “money-hungry b****h” who “treats me like a f***ing dog.”

Maher Kassem, 63, charged with four counts of murder, appeared in court on Tuesday.

Kassem allegedly told arriving police officers “They’re all gone,” and “I’m going to jail,” according to police bodycam footage from the scene, the Chicago Sun-Times reported .

According to Tinley Park authorities, the shooting happened early Sunday in the 7400 block of 173rd Place.

Police responded after a man called 911 and said someone had been shot in the home. First responders found the bodies upon arrival, each killed by a gunshot.

The 911 dispatcher referred to the scene as a “massacre,” according to police audio .

The women were identified later Sunday as Majeda Kassem, 53, Halema Kassem, 25, Zahia Kassem, 25, and Hanan Kassem, 24.

According to prosecutors, Kassem was arguing with one of his daughters in the basement while his 19-year-old son was asleep.
