Uptown shooting victim was holding a gun when cops arrived, tried to swallow bags of crack at the hospital: Chicago police report

CHICAGO – The man who was shot by a drive-by gunman in Uptown on Wednesday evening was holding a loaded handgun when Chicago police arrived, according to a CPD arrest report. At the hospital, the report said, a nurse intervened when he tried to swallow nine baggies of suspected crack cocaine.
