CHICAGO — From food and art, to skincare and jewelry, an artisan market that showcases talented South Side vendors was back in Hyde Park on Sunday.
The Hyde Park Handmade Bazaar, as its Facebook page states, is “a monthly showcase of South Side craft, fashion and food makers,” held on the second floor of The Promontory , located at 5311 South Lake Park Avenue in Hyde Park.
Vera Videnovich organizes the monthly market, which started in 2014 at The Promontory.
With a curated collection of creators offering everything from sweet treats, to blended seasonings, to art, jewelry and skincare, Videnovich says the market offers space for entrepreneurs to get face-to-face with customers and build connections that can help their businesses grow.
“A lot of beginning makers use this space to test the waters,” Videnovich explains.
“… I want them to do well, because there’s a lot of creativity. People are making really nice things. They’re finding their own way, and I think there should be space for that.”
