Evanston man faces federal charges after robbing 2 USPS postal carriers

CHICAGO — An Evanston man has been indicted for allegedly assaulting and robbing two postal carriers in Evanston in 2022.

Everett Pullett, 33, of Evanston, allegedly assaulted and robbed a postal carrier on the 1600 block of Monroe Street on Sep. 26 and another on the 2400 block of Nathaniel Place on Sep. 27, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Both robberies occurred in 2022.

Pullett allegedly displayed a gun while assaulting and injuring the postal carrier during the Sept. 27 robbery.

He also reportedly swiped the postal carrier’s arrow keys, which allows access to secured vestibules and common areas of condo and apartment buildings.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Pullett has been indicted after he assaulted and robbed two postal carriers in Evanston and illegally possessing a USPS arrow key.

Pullett was arraigned Monday in federal court in Chicago and pleaded not guilty to the charges. He faces up to maximum of 35 years in federal prison if proven guilty on all counts.
