Body found in Chicago River identified as missing man

CHICAGO — A person found dead in the Chicago River has been identified as a man who has been missing since October.

Authorities discovered the body of 34-year-old Michael McCord Tuesday afternoon on the Lower West Side, near 24th and Hoyne.

He was reported missing on October 20 from the city’s Southwest Side.

An autopsy to determine how he died is pending.
