Man gets 4 years for pointing a gun at Chicago cop who subsequently shot him

CHICAGO – A man shot by Chicago police last year when he allegedly ran toward them while pointing a gun in their direction has been sentenced to four years in prison. Javontay Kindred, 26, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a peace officer with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon before Judge Ursula Walowski, according to court records. She sentenced him to four years on each count, with the terms served concurrently.
