Charges filed against Chicago man accused of robbing man at knifepoint on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — Charges have been filed against a Chicago man accused of robbing a man at knifepoint on the city’s Southwest Side in early 2023.

According to Chicago police, 33-year-old Ladarius Harris, a Washington Park resident, has been charged with robbery, armed robbery, and aggravated robbery with the indication he was armed.

Authorities say the charges stem from a robbery that unfolded on Jan. 30, 2023, in the 1500 block of West Garfield Boulevard in New City.

Officers say Harris allegedly held a 44-year-old man at knifepoint and stole his belongings.

Police say Harris was taken into custody on Tuesday by members of the Chicago Police Department and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in the 5600 block of South Michigan Avenue.

Harris appeared in court on Wednesday for a detention hearing.
