Parents’ Advocacy Group Criticizes BLM Week of Action for Promoting Controversial Principles

Parent’s group slams Black Lives Matter for “fostering a queer-affirming network,” “disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure”

As the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Week of Action commences in liberal school districts nationwide this week, including Chicago public schools, a parents’ rights group is raising concerns about the curriculum’s focus on what they call “astonishing” and controversial principles. The week, orchestrated by the left-wing organization Black Lives Matter at School, spans from February 5-9, aiming to address issues related to racial equality and justice.

The Parents Defending Education (PDE), a grassroots organization committed to combating indoctrination in classrooms, released a report on Monday outlining the various curriculums associated with the BLM Week of Action. The report sheds light on the repetition of Hamas terrorists’ talking points by Black Lives Matter at School, raising questions about the group’s stance on international conflicts.

One notable critique in the PDE’s report is the critical approach to Israel found in the BLM Week of Action curriculums. This approach appears to be influenced by the group’s statement following an Oct. 7 attack by Hamas terrorists, where more than 1,200 Israeli individuals, including men, women, and children, were tragically affected. In the statement, the group attributed the attack to what they labeled as decades of Israeli settler colonialism, land dispossession, occupation, blockade, apartheid, and attempted genocide of millions of Palestinians.
