“Michael would have a field day” – Horace Grant says LeBron James’ Heat would’ve had no chance of beating his Bulls teams

Former Chicago Bulls forward Horace Grant is confident that the 90s Chicago team he played on would have no problem defeating the Big 3-led Miami Heat in a mythical showdown.

Grant played on the Bulls team that won the three-peat from 1991-1993. In 2014, the LeBron James-led Miami Heat appeared in their fourth consecutive NBA Finals and were looking to join the Wind City squad on the list of elite teams that won at least three straight championships.

During an interview with WSCR-AM Chicago via ESPN , Grant was asked if his ’90s Bulls team would beat the Heatles in a mythical showdown, and of course, he said yes.

“The Heat wouldn’t have had a chance,” Grant said. “We would have locked them up. We would have locked them up. Especially with the rules today, Michael would have had a field day. I’m not being biased, MJ would average 40 points today with the no hand-check rule,” Grant said. “No question, 40 points.”

Many have argued that Michael Jordan would average 40 points per game if he played in today’s NBA. Former NBA head coach Jeff Van Gundy made his argument on that topic during an appearance on ‘The Ryen Rusillo Podcast’ and he couldn’t have said it better.
