Teen armed robbery suspects taken into custody after getaway car crashes

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Three teens were arrested Sunday night for a robbery in Greater Grand Crossing after the car they were in rolled over.

Chicago Police said a 50-year-old man told them he was held up by three young men near 74th and State just before 8 p.m.

A half hour later, Illinois State Police said troopers saw a dark colored SUV that matched the description from the armed robbery but it sped off and lost control, hitting the median near 63rd and State.

It was there police arrested two 15-year-old and a 16-year-old and recovered a gun. They were taken to the hospital. It’s not clear what their condition is.
