17-year-old boy shot multiple times on South Side, police say

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times on the city’s South Side.

The shooting happened around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday on the 800 block of East 63rd Street in the Woodlawn neighborhood.

Police said the teen was walking on the sidewalk when gunshots were fired. The 17-year-old felt pain and realized he had been shot twice in the leg and also grazed in the back.

The teen was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.

No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.
