CHICAGO — A 54-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot while driving on the city’s South Side.
The shooting happened around 6:30 a.m. Monday on the 7800 block of South Greenwood in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Police said the man told authorities he was driving when an offender opened gunfire.
The man sustained gunshot wounds about his body and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported.
No one is in custody at this time. Area Two Detectives are investigating.
