Chicago Drug Ring Leader Sentenced to 16 Years as Global Trafficking Operation Faces Disruption

The gavel fell and Antonio Carrazco-Martinez, the orchestrator of the Chicago arm of an international drug trafficking operation, is now set to spend 16 years behind bars. Convicted on drug trafficking charges by a federal jury in Chicago, Carrazco-Martinez, 43, of Fort Valley, Ga., was handed this sentence on Thursday by U.S. District Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman. The sentencing marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the Mexico-based drug trafficking organization allegedly led by Pablo Anibal Vazquez-Duarte, still considered a fugitive along with two other defendants.
