CHICAGO — An investigation by Chicago police is underway on Tuesday afternoon after a person was found shot to death inside a home on the city’s West Side.
Chicago police said the victim, a female whose age has not been determined, was found inside a home in the 700 block of North Avers Avenue, in Humboldt Park, at around 12:30 p.m.

According to police, the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to her left arm and was later pronounced dead on the scene.
While it is unclear what led to the shooting, offices said a person of interest has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
