Jerry Krause had several big beefs in the Chicago Bulls’ locker room during the days of supremacy in the ’90s. Michael Jordan was the first name to pop into everybody’s mind, and the second one was his running mate, Scottie Pippen.
Pip eventually became so frustrated that he cursed out the Bulls’ GM on the team bus. His frustration stemmed from being underpaid or from Krause’s attempt to ship him away from the franchise at the peak of his career. Despite his intense animosity, the seven-time All-Star acknowledged Jerry’s role in leading the Bulls to six championships and crowned him the greatest general manager.
Scottie insulted Krause on the team bus
The second episode of ‘The Last Dance’ documentary depicts the crescendo of Pippen’s frustration with Jerry, ultimately manifesting in a verbal assault on the team bus. The 6’8″ forward’s discontent stemmed from his contractual situation — despite being the league’s best perimeter defender, he was under a seven-year, $18 million contract and was merely the 122nd highest-paid player in the league.
