WEST PULLMAN — Two Save A Lot grocery stores operated and recently rehabilitated by Ohio-based company Yellow Banana will have grand reopening celebrations next week.
Save A Lot stores at 10700 S. Halsted St. in West Pullman and 2858 E. 83rd St. in South Chicago will reopen Nov. 7, Sarah Griffin, Save A Lot’s director of corporate communications, said in a statement to Block Club.
The two stores were “projected” to open in Octobe r barring any delays, but the Yellow Banana and Save A Lot team “experienced some additional construction delays that were out of our control,” Griffin said Monday. Owners are “excited to welcome the community back to these two stores,” Griffin said.
The grand reopenings of the West Pullman and South Chicago sites, along with one in West Garfield Park, mark three of six Yellow Banana-owned grocery stores expected to open across the South and West sides this year .
