A shooting at Kilbourn Park, a stabbing at homeless camp near North Shore Channel reported in 17th (Albany Park) Police District

17th 11-2-24 A man was shot at about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, the 3400 block of North Kilbourn Avenue, according to 17th (Albany Park) District police. Witnesses reported sitting in the bleachers at Kilbourn Park after a softball game when a man fired several shots at them, according to police. A 32-year-old man reported that the man fired four to five shots so he and the witnesses fled east when he realized he was shot in the left buttocks, police said. The witnesses reported that the shooter fled north on Kilbourn and they applied a tourniquet while 911 was called, according to police. The man was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was treated for the gunshot wound, police said. Officers recovered five spent shell casings from the scene, according to police.
