An Illinois mom-of-two has been shot dead while attending a funeral procession.
Heartbreaking tributes have poured in for 34-year-old Rhomesha Turner and concern remains for the two daughters she leaves behind.
Police were called to the scene in Chicago’s southern suburb of Dixmoor to reports of a shooting and a crash on Saturday November 2. There, officers found Rhomesha with apparent gunshot wounds inside a white Jaguar SUV, which had crashed into a home.
She was rushed to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where she sadly died. Investigators discovered she had been part of a funeral procession for her dead brother that had just left St. Mark’s Church in Harvey. Her brother had been killed two weeks before in gun violence.

Rhomesha leaves behind her two daughters – Jayla and Jaide. A tribute to the murdered mom on GoFundMe reads: “She was a light to every one she came into contact with. She was a nursing student at Rasmussen University, a hair braider and above all a phenomenal mother. A lot of people have reached out numerous of times asking how can they help her girls Jayla and Jaide.
