42-year-old man struck in face, robbed on CTA Blue Line platform in the Loop, Chicago police say

CHICAGO — A 42-year-old man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery at the CTA Blue Line Chicago stop in the Loop overnight.

Investigation underway after man shot in head in Elk Grove Village; neighbors say community normally quiet, peaceful

According to Chicago police, the man was standing on the Blue Line platform in the 200 block of North La Salle Street around 2:45 a.m. Monday when a male approached him and demanded money. Police say the offender struck the victim in the face and took his wallet before fleeing on the train.

The victim was taken by the Chicago Fire Department to an area hospital in good condition with a laceration to the nose.
