Tragedy on Chicago’s West Side: 62-Year-Old Man Critically Wounded in Thanksgiving Day Shooting

Man shot through window in Garfield Park home

CHICAGO – A shocking act of violence left a 62-year-old man in critical condition after he was shot in the head through the window of his home in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:21 p.m. on the 4000 block of West Monroe Street, according to the Chicago Police Department. The victim was inside his residence when gunfire shattered the window, striking him in the head. Emergency services rushed the man to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where his condition was described as critical.

Law enforcement has not yet made any arrests as they work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward as the search for answers continues.
