Argument leads to stabbing at CTA Red Line stop on Chicago’s South Side

CHICAGO — The city’s latest CTA Red Line-related stabbing resulted from a verbal altercation that turned physical on the South Side, Chicago police said Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred just before 3 p.m. in the 200 block of W. 47th Street (47th Street station). There, police say, the 35-year-old victim and unidentified offender got into an argument. For reasons unknown, the male offender produced what police called a “cutting instrument” and swung at the victim.

The victim suffered lacerations to his face and hand. He arrived at the nearby University of Chicago Hospital in good condition.

No one is in custody.
