CHICAGO — The third annual “You Name a Snowplow” contest returns in Chicago.
Residents are encouraged to submit innovative names for snowplows by Jan. 4.
The Department of Streets and Sanitation will select six names to represent snowplows in each of the city’s six snow districts.
They will join a fleet of a total of 12 winners from 2023 and 2024.
In February, Tom Skilling was honored with “Skilling It” and took pictures with the snowplow at the unveiling.

The other 2024 winners were; CTRL-SALT-DELETE, Casimir Plowaski, Ernie Snowbanks, Mies van der Snow and Bad, Bad Leroy Plow.
The 2023 winners were Mrs. O’Leary’s Plow, Da Plow, Salter Payton, Sears Plower, Sleet Home Chicago, Holy Plow! and Jean Baptiste Point du Shovel.
