CHICAGO — One person died in a single-vehicle crash on the Stevenson Expressway early Sunday morning.
1 in custody after CPD gunfight with shooting suspect on West Side
According to Illinois State Police, troopers responded to the scene on northbound I-55 just before 3 a.m. after a Honda sedan had reportedly struck a pole on the ramp to Damen Avenue. The driver was taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The ramp was initially closed but reopened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, ISP says.
