Pedestrian struck, killed on Kennedy

CHICAGO — A pedestrian was struck and killed on the Kennedy Wednesday night.

Just before 5:45 p.m., authorities responded to the southbound lanes of the Kennedy between Canfield and Harlem Avenue on the report of a pedestrian struck.

The pedestrian entered the left lane of traffic for unknown reasons and was struck by a vehicle, according to police.

The person was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Debris from the initial crash struck another vehicle as well.

The Kennedy was shut down until shortly before 10 p.m.
