New reward offered for information on deadly mass shooting at Southwest Side home

CHICAGO — Authorities are offering a new reward for information that could lead to the arrest of the person responsible for a deadly mass shooting on the Southwest Side that left three people dead in early December.

Police said the shooting unfolded just after 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, in the 3500 block of West 59th Street, in Gage Park.

According to officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive (ATF), nine people were hit by gunfire in the shooting, including three men who suffered fatal injuries.

Investigators said it is believed that the victims were attending a gathering when the gunfire broke out. Residents who lived nearby agreed, adding that it appeared that a party was going on prior to the shooting.

As the search for the gunman continues, officials from the ATF, in coordination with the Chicago Police Department and Cook County CrimeStoppers, announced Thursday that authorities are increasing the reward for information that could lead to the identification, location and apprehension of those responsible.
