An early morning break-in at Hyde Park’s Bank Financial on Christmas Eve left the doors to the building smashed and its ATM strewn across 55th Street. According to Chicago police, officers responded to a call shortly after 4:15 a.m. on December 24, where they found the smashed ATM along the 1300 block of East 55th Street. CPD reports that four men broke into the bank vestibule, removed the ATM and attempted to drive away with it on top of one of two vehicles. The ATM fell off as they fled the scene; it is not yet clear if any money was taken.
