New Years gun violence: 2 killed, dozens wounded throughout Chicago

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Chicago Police are investigating multiple shootings on New Year’s Eve and through Wednesday afternoon that killed two people and wounded more than a dozen others.

Martinez Williams, 51, man was fatally shot during a robbery at a store near 76th and Racine in West Englewood Wednesday, at about 12:30 p.m.

Chicago Police said an armed man held up Williams and then shot him.

A 29-year-old man was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds at about 3:30 am near 94th and Harvard in Roseland, police said.

The Medical Examiner identified him as Isaiah Magruder.

Chicago police are investigating several other shootings that left at least 17 people wounded, ranging in age from 18 to 46.
