Popular Cuban restaurant’s future in doubt after abruptly closing its 2 Chicago locations

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A pair of Cuban restaurants on Chicago’s North and Northwest Side have closed their doors amid questions about what happened.

Both locations of the 90 Miles Cuban Cafe are closed.

Block Club Chicago reported the location on Clybourn near Oakley in the Roscoe Village neighborhood will not reopen because management claims it lost its lease.

Meanwhile, the 90 Miles Cuban Cafe at Armitage near Rockwell in Logan Square is closed. Management claims it’s due to a small fire and the location will reopen once repairs are made.

But, Block Club reported the owner of the Logan Square building has sued to evict the cafe because of $62,000 in overdue rent and other fees.

Management also denied a claim by a city spokesperson that the Logan Square location was operating without a license.
