Man shot in West Side home invasion, police say

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A man is recovering from injuries after he was shot during a home invasion on the West Side Wednesday morning.

Chicago Police said this happened just before 5 a.m., at a home on North Long Avenue near West Washington Boulevard in the Austin neighborhood.

After breaking into the home, two men shot a 34-year-old man inside.

The suspects then took personal property from the residence and left out the back of the house.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

No one is in custody and police are investigating.
