FLOSSMOOR, Ill. (WGN) — A south suburban chef is celebrating her one-year anniversary of opening the restaurant where she started her culinary career as a part of Chicago’s Black Restaurant Week, which kicked off Sunday.
“I have loved cooking since I was four. I was the kid that your grandma had to shoe out of the kitchen,” said Yvette Zavala, executive chef and owner of The Bistro on Sterling .
