Man dies in car crash in West Pullman neighborhood, police say; vehicle split in half

CHICAGO — A man died after crashing his car and being ejected from his vehicle Sunday night in the West Pullman neighborhood on the city’s South Side.

According to Chicago police, the man was driving north in a white SUV in the 12000 block of South Halsted Street just before 8 p.m. when he hit a tree and two unoccupied parked vehicles before being ejected from his vehicle.

The force of the crash cut the vehicle in half and left pieces of it scattered all over the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported, police say. The man has not been identified…
