‘Car Flippers’ Gobbling Up Street Parking Spots Could Face Crackdown

LINCOLN SQUARE — Car flippers operating without a license who use public streets as a parking lot will face stiffer penalties if some City Council members get their way.

Neighbors on Chicago streets may have noticed vehicles parked on their block, seemingly abandoned, without a license plate. The cars are moved up and down the block periodically to avoid being towed or ticketed, and sometimes have a “for sale” sign on them.
