CHICAGO — A fatal shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway near Sox Park last year stemmed from a rivalry between two factions of the Moe Town P-Stones street gang, prosecutors said as they filed the first charges in the case.
Around 8:45 p.m. on June 7, an IDOT worker saw a disabled white Jeep Compass on the inbound Ryan near 35th Street and stopped to help the motorist, officials said. When he shined his flashlight through the SUV’s heavily tinted windows, he could see the driver, 26-year-old Tywaun Donald, was slumped to the side and had a gunshot wound to his head.
Donald was pronounced dead at the scene. Illinois State Police investigators found a fully loaded handgun under Donald’s buttocks, but there were no indications that he had fired the weapon, according to a proffer filed by prosecutors…
