20-Year-Old Charged with Attempted Murder in Chicago Shooting of Elderly Woman

A 20-year-old man has been formally charged in the shooting of a 62-year-old woman that took place last year in Chicago. Kenneth Dixon, of the 6100 block of S. Cottage Grove, was arrested on Thursday, March 6, by the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force. According to a press release from the Chicago Police Department, Dixon is facing one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and another felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm.

The incident, which left the victim critically injured, occurred on November 27, 2024, in the 6100 block of S. Cottage Grove. The area is known to be within the jurisdiction of the 3rd District.
