Chicago Man Strikes Millionaire Status with Random $10 Scratch-Off Ticket from Local Gas Station

A stroke of fortune landed at the feet of Chicago resident Ashur Al Rahib, who became a millionaire after picking a random $10 scratch-off lottery ticket. The ticket was bought from a Mobil gas station in the West Ridge neighborhood at 2500 West Peterson Avenue, as reported by WGN-TV. Al Rahib, overwhelmed by his luck, revealed, “I stop by this gas station often as it’s in my neighborhood,” and further expressed disbelief by adding, “I randomly pointed at one – and I can’t believe the ticket I chose has made me a millionaire!”

The win didn’t just bring joy to Al Rahib but also to the store associate Romy Singh, who helped him select the jackpot ticket blindly. “Ashur is a good and hardworking man. He’s been coming here for a long time, so we’ve gotten to know each other,” Singh told WGN-TV in a fitting display of the close-knit nature of local businesses and their patrons. The Mobil gas station is quickly gaining a reputation as a lucky spot, having previously sold $25,000 and $50,000 winning lottery tickets in the past two years.

Regarding his future plans with the windfall, Al Rahib aspires to invest in the local community. He stated in a WGN-TV interview that he plans to “buy a small building, and open a meat market and bakery.” Beyond these entrepreneurial pursuits, he also intends to contribute to his church, echoing a philanthropic sentiment by asserting, “I also plan to donate some to my church.”…
