Hundreds of letter carriers rally in Illinois after postmaster general promises job cuts

The National Association of Letter Carriers rallied in downtown Chicago on Sunday to protest the potential privatization of the United States Postal Service.

The rally, which involved hundreds of letter carriers, postal workers and supporters gathering at Federal Plaza, was one of more than 200 that took place nationwide over the past weekend.

The move came days after Postmaster General Louis DeJoy sent a letter to Congress announcing his plans to cut 10,000 workers and billions of dollars from the USPS budget.
