Driver arrested after leading deputy on wrong-way chase on US-131

ALAMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A driver from Chicago was arrested early Wednesday morning after trying to flee from a Kalamazoo County deputy on US-131.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office said the chase started just after 1 a.m. A deputy was heading northbound on the highway near D Avenue when they saw a vehicle driving northbound in the southbound lanes.

The deputy was able to get ahead of the suspect and pull into an emergency turnaround, but when the deputy signaled for the driver to stop, the suspect continued on.

Eventually road spikes were deployed and “disabled” the suspect’s vehicle…
